Abstract: In order to provide references for selection and breeding of Tianzhu Muscovy Duck, the physiological and biochemical parameters of Tianzhu Muscovy Ducks were determined by traditional method and the gender differences in the parameters were statistically analyzed. The results showed that the physiological and biochemical parameters of male ducks were as followed:WBC(261.80±4.04)10^9/L,HGB(212.00±7.81)g/L,RBC(2.680±0.140)10^12/L,MCV(156.90±2.25)fL,MCH(79.10±1.57)pg,MCHC(509.00±10.58)g/L,PLT(10.00±1.00)10^9/L,Glu(13.35±1.28)mmol/L,BUN(0.56±0.29)mmol/L,Cr(44.90±2.12)mmol/L,UA(282.50±10.61)mmol/L,TCH(4.13±0.18)mmol/L,ALB(16.13±0.59)g/L,DBIL(11.83±1.00)μmol/L,TBIL(22.90±3.65)μmol/L,Pi(1.83±0.25)mmol/L;those of female ducks were as followed:WBC(233.30±3.25)10^9/L,HGB(189.50±2.12)g/L,RBC(2.260±0.007)10^12/L,MCV(160.90±4.90)fL,MCH(83.95±1.20)pg,MCHC(521.00±9.90)g/L,PLT(11.00±4.24)10^9/L,Glu(12.70±1.05)mmol/L,BUN(0.81±0.12)mmol/L,Cr(45.80±3.77)mmol/L,UA(219.67±22.05)mmol/L,TCH(3.67±0.04)mmol/L,ALB(14.75±0.61)g/L,DBIL(8.76±4.02)μmol/L,TBIL(23.54±7.24)μmol/L,Pi(1.90±0.19)mmol/L;for physiological parameters, there were significant differences in HGB,RBC,MCH values(P〈0.05)and extremely significant differences in WBC(P〈0.01)between male and female ducks;for biochemical parameters, significant differences in UA and TCH between male and female ducks were observed(P〈0.05),the other biochemical parameters had no significant gender differences.
