Abstract: This study aimed to assess the effect of estrogen (E2) on the mRNA expression of connective tissue growth factor (CTGF) in endometrium of dairy cows, and to uncover the mechanism underling the repairing effect of E2 on bovine endometrium. The mRNA expression of CTGF in the bovine endometrium cultured in vitro was detected by real-time fluorescent quantitative PCR. Compared to the blank control group, the mRNA expression of CTGF in E2 treatment group was significantly decreased (P〈 0.01). In conclusion, our investigation reveals that E2 is able to regulate the gene expression of CTGF in bovine endometrium.
