Abstract: Chicken infectious bronchitis is an acute and highly contagious respiratory disease caused by chicken infectious bronchitis virus(IBV),which is clinically characterized by mouth breathing, tracheal rale, cough and renal lesions. This disease always results in reduced feed conversion efficiency of broilers as well as deceased egg production and egg quality of laying hens.IBV has high-frequency mutations and multiple serotypes, which causes the complicated and various clinical and pathological changes. The quick emergence of mutant strains and poor cross-protection between different virus strains bring great difficulty to the diagnosis and prevention of this disease. This paper reviews the research progress of pathogenic agent typing, diagnostic technique and comprehensive control measures of chicken infectious bronchitis.
