  • Effect of Different Rearing Modes and Seasonal Factors on Growth Performance,Slaughter Traits and Meat Quality of Broilers

    The present study was designed to evaluate the influence of different rearing modes and seasonal factors on growth performance,slaughter traits and meat quality of broilers.Two batches of broiler chicks with the same variety were included in this study;the first batch was reared from October to December and the second one was reared from March to May;starting from 5-week-old,the broiler chicks within each batch were randomly allocated into three groups which were reared under three different rearing modes viz.scattered rearing mode,net rearing mode and fermentation bed rearing mode,respectively.The growth performance of broilers was determined weekly from 5-to 10-week-old,and the slaughter traits and meat quality were determined after 10-week-old.The evaluation indexes of the broilers reared under different rearing modes within the same batch and reared in different seasons(batches)under the same rearing mode were statistically compared,respectively.The results showed that in the first batch,the 10-week-old weight of the broilers under scattered rearing mode was extremely significantly higher than that under fermentation bed rearing mode(P<0.01),and in the second batch,the 10-week-old weight of the broilers under scattered rearing mode was extremely significantly higher than that under the other two rearing modes(P<0.01);in the first batch,the meat color and crude fat content of breast muscle of the broilers under scattered rearing mode was extremely significantly higher than that under the other two rearing modes(P<0.01),and in the second batch,the crude fat content of breast muscle of the broilers under scattered rearing mode was extremely significantly higher than that under the other two rearing modes(P<0.01);in the second batch,the broilers under scattered rearing mode had extremely significantly lower moisture content of leg muscle compared to those under the other two rearing modes(P<0.01),and had extremely significantly higher crude fat content of leg muscle compared to those under the other two rearing modes(P<0.01).The 8-,9-,and 10-week-old weights of the broilers in the second batch were simultaneously found extremely significantly higher compared to those of the broilers in the first batch under the three different rearing modes(P<0.01);under the net rearing mode,significantly higher dressing percentage and whole net carcass rate were observed in the first batch(P<0.05);under the net rearing mode and scattered rearing mode,the breast muscle percentage of the first batch was extremely significantly higher(P<0.01);under the three different rearing modes,extremely significantly higher crude protein content of breast muscle was simultaneously observed in the second batch(P<0.01),and extremely significantly higher meat color,shear stress and water holding capacity of leg muscle were simultaneously observed in the first batch(P<0.01).Collectively,these data reveal that the broilers perform better in growth performance and meat quality under the scattered rearing mode compare to the other two rearing modes,and seasonal factors have certain effect on growth performance,slaughter traits and meat quality of broilers.
    Influence of Egg Shape Index on Hatching Effect of Breeding Eggs in Lhasa White Chicken and Their Correlation Analysis

    In an attempt to assess the influence of egg shape index(transverse diameter/longitudinal diameter)on hatching effect of breeding eggs in Lhasa white chicken,the breeding eggs from 47-week-old Lhasa white chicken of the third generation were grouped based on the egg shape index and were hatched under the same condition.Furthermore,the correlation between egg shape index and hatching effect was analyzed.The results showed that when the index of egg shape ranged from 0.68 to 0.72,the highest value of 0 embryo age egg weight,average longitudinal diameter,the first candling inspection(at 11th day of embryo age)egg weight and second candling inspection(at 20th day of embryo age)egg weight were observed and were(51.92±5.27)g,(57.71±1.97)mm,(48.95±4.67)g and(45.47±3.97)g,respectively;when the index of egg shape ranged from 0.73 to 0.77,the highest value of hatching eggs hatchability,fertilized eggs hatchability and birth weight of chicks were observed and were 82.65%,86.60%and(36.31±4.71)g,respectively;when the index of egg shape ranged from 0.78 to 0.82,the highest value of the first candling inspection(at 11th day of embryo age)weightlessness,the first candling inspection(at 11th day of embryo age)weightlessness rate,the second candling inspection(at 20th day of embryo age)weightlessness,and the second candling inspection(at 20th day of embryo age)weightlessness rate were observed and were(3.35±0.93)g,(6.64±1.54)%,(6.70±1.47)g,and(13.47±2.56)%,respectively;when the index of egg shape ranged from 0.83 to 0.87,the highest value of average transverse diameter,fertility rate,healthy chick rate,and ratio of birth weight to hatching eggs weight were observed and were(42.82±1.23)mm,97.26%,95.96%,and(70.23±3.58)%,respectively;there was extremely significantly positive correlation between the birth weight of chicks and the ratio of birth weight of chicks to hatching eggs weight(P<0.01).This study provides a theoretical basis for the future selection of Lhasa white chicken.
    Effects of Yeast Culture Addition on Development and Oviposition of Drosophila melanogaster

    In an attempt to investigate the effects of yeast culture addition on development and oviposition of Drosophila melanogaster(D.melanogaster),the developmental time and white pupal weight of D.melanogaster as well as the egg laying numbers of the females reared in the culture medium with addition of 0%,1.5%and 3.0%of yeast culture were determined,respectively,and were statistically assessed.The results showed that the D.melanogaster reared in the culture medium without yeast culture addition died in the 1st larval stage;the developmental time of the larvae was shortened with the elevation of yeast culture addition concentration.When the added concentration of yeast culture was 1.5%,the developmental time of the larvae was similar to the theoretical value,meanwhile,the egg laying numbers of the females were found significantly increased(P<0.05);added concentration of yeast culture had no significant effect on white pupal weight of D.melanogaster(P>0.05).Our results provide a theoretical foundation for the normal culture of D.melanogaster in the labs and for the researches on developmental biology of D.melanogaster.
    Effects of Dark Spots on Egg Quality and Antioxidant Activity

    [Objective]To study the effect of dark spots on egg quality and antioxidant activity.[Methods]Typical normal eggs(n=24)and typical eggs with dark spot(n=24)were selected from the eggs produced by a batch of brown shell layers of the same age which were fed with same diet and were reared under the same rearing environment,respectively.The egg quality and antioxidant activity in egg yolk of the two types of eggs were determined and statistically compared.[Results]In terms of egg quality,there were no significant differences in egg shape index,eggshell strength,egg weight,Haugh unit,albumen height,egg class,egg yolk color,egg yolk weight,eggshell weight,albumen weight,eggshell thickness,egg yolk ratio,eggshell ratio and albumen ratio between the two types of eggs(P>0.05);the eggs with dark spot had extremely significantly lower eggshell color value compared to the normal eggs(P<0.01).For the antioxidant activity indexes,the significantly lower total antioxidant capacity(T-AOC)were found in the eggs with dark spot compared to the normal ones(P<0.05);no significant difference in malondialdehyde(MDA)content in egg yolk between the two types of eggs was found(P>0.05).[Conclusion]Eggs with dark spot have darker eggshell and lower T-AOC compared to the normal ones.
    Effects Comparison Between Simvastatin and Ezetimibe on Liver Histopathology in High-fat-fed Golden Hamsters Model

    The objective of this study was to characterize the difference in antihypercholesterolemic effect between simvastatin and ezetimibe in high-fat-fed golden hamsters model.A total of 40 healthy male golden hamster were randomly assigned to the following four groups:normal control group,hyperlipidemic model group,simvastatin group and ezetimibe group.The normal control group fed the normal diet and the other three groups fed a high-fat diet.The simvastatin group and ezetimibe group were intragastrically administrated 3 mg/(kg·BW)of simvastatin and 2.5 mg/(kg·BW)of ezetimibe for consecutive nine weeks,respectively,and the normal control group and hyperlipidemic model group were received distilled water contemporaneously.At the end of the experiment,the body weight of the golden hamsters was determined and their liver were sampled and weighted to calculate the ratio of liver weight to body weight;the histological sections of liver were prepared and were stained with HE method;the pathological changes of liver tissues were observed using light microscopy.The results showed that the simvastatin group had extremely significantly higher liver weight compared to normal control group(P<0.01),while the liver weight of ezetimibe group had no significant difference with normal control group(P>0.05);extremely significantly higher ratio of liver weight to body weight was observed in simvastatin group compared to normal control group(P<0.01),and the ratio of liver weight to body weight in ezetimibe group were found significantly reduced compared to normal control group(P<0.05);the simvastatin group had similar pathological changes of liver observed by naked eye to hyperlipidemic model group:the liver was earth yellow colored with granular feeling in surface and the edge was sharp;similar pathological changes of liver observed by naked eye were observed in ezetimibe group and normal control group:the liver was dark brown colored with soft texture and the edge was also sharp;under light microscopy,simvastatin group showed intracytoplasmic fat vacuoles within perihepatic margin cells which squeezed the cell nuclear to a side of the cell,and vacuolar degeneration and inflammatory cell infiltration were also observed;the liver cells of ezetimibe group was homogeneous and eosinophilic with abundant cytoplasm,no intracytoplasmic fat vacuoles,vacuolar degeneration or inflammatory cell infiltration were observed,and the hepatic cord arranged regularly.In conclusion,ezetimibe had superior antihypercholesterolemic effect in high-fat-fed golden hamsters model to simvastatin.
    Optimization of Extraction Process of Total Flavonoids from Artemisia frigida,a Traditional Mongolian Medicine

    The present study was designed to screen the optimized extraction process of total flavonoids from Artemisia frigida,a traditional Mongolian medicine.The influences of the factors associated with the extraction efficiency of total flavonoids from Artemisia frigida,including solvents and their corresponding concentrations,solid-liquid ratio of Artemisia frigida and solvents,extraction temperatures,and extraction times,were assessed by using single factor experimental design.The results showed that the optimized extraction process of total flavonoids from Artemisia frigida was as followed:the best extraction solvent was ethanol and its concentration was 60%,the solid-liquid ratio of Artemisia frigida and 60%ethanol was 1∶25,the extraction temperature was 70℃,and the extraction time was 4 h.Our results provide experimental basis for the high-efficiency extraction and clinical use of effective components of Artemisia frigida.

    This study was carried out to construct a recombinant eukaryotic expression vector of pEGFP-N3-UCP3 without CMV promoter.UCP3 gene promoter and pEGFP-N3 vector fragment without CMV region was cloned and amplified by PCR assay.Subsequently,the obtained UCP3 gene promoter and the amplified vector were connected and transformed into competent cell DH5αfrom Escherichia coli.The positive clone was selected and identified by PCR assay and sequencing.The recombinant eukaryotic expression vector of pEGFP-N3-UCP3 was successfully constructed,which laid a foundation for uncovering the mechanism underlining the transcriptional regulation of UCP3 gene.
    Development of Key Technology for Improving in Vitro Fertilization Efficacy of Bovine Sexing Embryo

    In an attempt to improve the in vitro fertilization(IVF)efficacy of bovine sexing embryo,a set of key technology for improving IVF efficacy of bovine sexing semen was developed.Firstly,the effect of three in vitro capacitation methods of bovine sexing frozen semen and antioxidant additive addition on IVF efficacy of bovine sexing semen was statistically evaluated;secondly,the impact of partial removal of cumulus cell from oocyte matured in vitro for 24 h on IVF efficacy of bovine sexing embryo was assessed.The results showed that while the cleavage rate and blastocyst rate of IVF produced zygotes of one-time centrifugation in vitro capacitation method[(68.3±3.7)%,(30.9±2.3)%]had no significant differences with sperm floating capacitation method[(67.8±2.6)%,(29.7±3.7)%](P>0.05),they were significantly higher than those of two-time centrifugation in vitro capacitation method[(56.1±4.1)%,(21.6±4.6)%](P<0.05);the treatment with addition of 1.0%ascorbic acid in capacitation liquid and IVF liquid had significantly higher cleavage rate[(70.2±3.2)%]and blastocyst rate[(35.0±4.7)%]of IVF produced zygotes compared to the treatment without additive[(60.0±4.5)%,(28.3±3.6)%](P<0.05);the cleavage rate and blastocyst rate of IVF produced zygotes in the treatment that the surrounding cumulus cell was partially removed from the oocyte prior to IVF[(70.1±4.6)%,(35.5±3.7)%]were found significantly higher compared to the treatment without cumulus cell removal[(52.9±4.1)%,(26.1±3.6)%](P<0.05).The combined data suggest that the one-time centrifugation in vitro capacitation method and sperm floating capacitation method have better performance in improving IVF efficacy of bovine sexing semen,and the addition of 1.0%ascorbic acid in capacitation liquid and IVF liquid is recommended.In addition,the partial removal of cumulus cell from oocyte prior to IVF has important significance on improving the development of IVF embryo produced by sexing semen.
    Effect of Coenzyme Q10 on Cryopreservation Efficacy of Cashmere Goat Semen

    This study aimed to assess the impact of coenzyme Q10 addition in freezing extender on cryopreservation efficacy of cashmere goat semen.The fresh semen samples were collected and were cryopreserved with the freezing extender supplemented with 4μg/mL,40μg/mL or 400μg/mL of coenzyme Q10,respectively.After thawing,the sperm motility rate,membrane integrity,acrosome integrity,DNA integrity,mitochondrial membrane potential and reactive oxygen species(ROS)level of the cryopreserved semen samples treated with different concentrations of coenzyme Q10 were evaluated by flow cytometry assay and computer-assisted sperm analysis system(CASAS)and were statistically assessed.The results showed that after the freezing-thawing process,the sperm motility rate,membrane integrity and acrosome integrity were increased significantly when 40μg/mL of coenzyme Q10 was supplemented in the freezing extender(P<0.05).In addition,the sperm of the semen samples cryopreserved in the freezing extender supplemented with 40μg/mL or 400μg/mL of coenzyme Q10 showed significantly higher mitochondrial membrane potential and significantly lower ROS level(P<0.05).In conclusion,supplementation of 40μg/mL of coenzyme Q10 in the freezing extender can significantly improve the antioxidant activity and cryopreservation efficacy of cashmere goat sperm.
    Effects of Different Influencing Factors on the Embryo Production Efficiency

    Modern reproductive biotechnologies are important to improve the utilization rate of high quality sheep,shorten the production cycle,accelerate the good breed sheep propagation and promote the development of the sheep industry.These technologies are very complicated technical systems.Taking the technology of embryo transfer as an example,a series of influencing factors,such as individual and genetic differences of donors and receptors,physiological and reproductive conditions,environmental and nutritional status,superovulation scheme,drugs and the skill levels of operators,may affect its entire process and efficacy.In this study,the female Dorper sheep were used as donors to investigate the effects of different operators,selection of stud rams and times of embryo flushing on embryo production efficiency.The results showed that the average number of recovered embryos and available embryos obtained by different trained operators were 3.73 and 3.17 respectively,and there were no significant differences in both of these two indicators between different operators(P>0.05).The times of surgical embryo flushing of the donor sheep exhibited significant effect on embryo production efficiency:when the surgeries exceeded 4 times,the average number of recovered embryos and available embryos were significantly reduced(P<0.05).In addition,the selection of different stud rams also had significant effect on embryo production efficiency(P<0.05):4.11 available embryos were obtained from stud ram 317 and only 3.88 available embryos were obtained from stud ram D1402.
    The Origin and Breeding Progress of Steppe Gobi Short-tailed Sheep

    The Steppe gobi short-tailed sheep belongs to a fine group of Mongolian sheep which are mainly distributed in the northern pastoral desert steppe areas of Darhan Muminggan Joint Banner of Baotou,Siziwang Banner of Ulanqab,Urad Middle Banner of Bayannur City,and desert steppe region of northern pastoral area of Urad Front Banner.Its typical characteristics are short tail and significantly smaller than that of the Sunit sheep.Firstly,the classification and formation of the fat tail sheep in China were discussed,and the origin of fat tail sheep was explored.It is pointed out that the existing fat tail sheep were bred in the Tang Dynasty and were hybridized by fat tail sheep introduced from Central Asia through the Silk Road,southward migrated Mongolian sheep and local ancient Qiang sheep;secondly,the origin and history formation of Steppe gobi short-tailed sheep were explored.We found that their history was closely related to the migration of Sizi,Urad,and Darhan Muminggan nations;finally,the prospects for the breeding of Steppe gobi short-tailed sheep were described.We pointed out that on the basis of traditional breeding,the advanced molecular marker assisted selection and genomics technology should be used to accelerate the genetic progress,to improve the overall degree of the tail type of the Steppe gobi short-tailed sheep,and to increase the breeding benefit.
    Responses of Germination and Growth of Three Varieties of Alfalfa Widely Cultivated in Northwest China against Drought Stress

    In this study,the effects of different drought stress environments on bud of seeds,protective enzyme activity of seedlings and water content of seedling leaves of three varieties of alfalfa widely cultivated in Northwest China,including Medicago varia cv.Gannong No.1,Medicago sativa cv.Amerigraze401+Z,and Medicago sativa cv.Xinjiang Daye,were assessed under an artificially simulated osmotic stress condition prepared with polyethylene glycol(PEG-6000).The results showed that with the elevation of PEG-6000 concentrations(5%-25%),the bud of seeds,protective enzyme activity of seedlings and water content of seedlings leaves of the three tested varieties of alfalfa were affected in varying degrees.The germination rate,germination index,vigor index and germination potential of the three tested varieties of alfalfa were found obviously reduced,the water content of seedling leaves had no significant changes,and the changing features of the protective enzymes activity of seedlings were different.The membership function analysis demonstrated that the descending order of the drought resistance in the seed germination period of the three tested varieties of alfalfa was Medicago varia cv.Gannong No.1,Medicago sativa cv.Xinjiang Daye,and Medicago sativa cv.Amerigraze401+Z.According to the mean value of comprehensive evaluation,the alfalfa varieties of Medicago varia cv.Gannong No.1 and Medicago sativa cv.Xinjiang Daye had stronger drought resistance than Medicago sativa cv.Amerigraze401+Z.
    Comparative Trial of Silage Maize Varieties for Feeding in Guangxi

    In this study,a comparative trial was carried out using the spring sowing and summer sowing varieties of nine silage maize for feeding,including Zhengdan958,Guidan 0810,Guidan 162,Zhaofeng 588,Zhaofeng 788,Guidan 0811,Yaoqing No.5,Qingsi No.2 and Suyu No.10,as experimental materials to compare their plant seedling rate,botanical characteristics and biological yield.The results showed that Yaoqing No.5 exhibited higher plant height and performed better in content of air-dried matter and biological yield.The fresh grass yield of spring sowing and summer sowing varieties of Yaoqing No.5 was 4 604.52 kg/666.7 m^2 and 4 987.55 kg/666.7 m^2,respectively,which was increased by 24.89%and 47.08%than that of Zhengdan 958,respectively.It was indicated that Yaoqing No.5 could be widely popularized in Guangxi.
    Establishment of Fertilization Index System for Silage Maize on Irrigated Land in Xilinhot of Inner Mongolia

    Silage corn is a high-quality feed for livestock raising and provides forage guarantee for animal husbandry.In this study,a silage maize variety of"Great Wall 9904"were planted in three forage production bases with irrigation condition in Xilinhot of Inner Mongolia;the"3414"fertilizer efficiency test was carried out by using the technology of soil testing formula fertilization in plots with high,middle and low fertility;the results were subsequently analyzed and studied.The index system of soil nutrient abundance and deficiency for silage maize planting on irrigated land in Xilinhot City was preliminarily determined,which provides a basis for scientific and rational fertilization in silage maize planting in this city.
    Preparation of Biological Feed with Grape Pomace Fermented by Yeast and Lactobacillus

    The objective of this study was to investigate the optimum preparation method of biological feed with grape pomace fermented by co-culture of Candida utilis and Lactobacillus acidophilus.Using true protein content of the fermentation products as evaluation index,the optimal fermentation conditions were screened by orthogonal experimental design method.The results showed that the optimum inoculation ratio of Candida utilis and Lactobacillus acidophilus was 1.5∶1.0 and the optimum inoculation amount was 10.0%;the formula of the solid fermentation medium were as followed:grape pomace 75%,auxiliary material 25%(corn∶wheat bran=1∶1),urea 1.5%,ammonium sulfate 1.5%,magnesium sulfate 0.4%,and potassium dihydrogen phosphate 1.5%;the optimum fermentation conditions were as followed:the quality of fermentation material was 100 g/500 mL,material-water ratio was 1.0∶1.0,fermentation at 32℃for 72 h with nature pH value.Under this condition,the true protein content of final fermentation products was 14.45%(dry matter),which was 4.35%higher than the raw material.Our results provide new ideas for feeding utilization of grape pomace and development of application of novel feed resources.

    With the continuous development of biotechnology,scholars at home and abroad have been conducted a lot of research on the development and utilization of the donkey biological products.In order to further develop and utilize the donkey and its biological products and to improve the living donkey value and industrial economic value,the development and utilization of donkey hide,serum,blood,urine,bone and placenta,etc.was elaborated in this article,and some directions need to be further researched was put forward,in hoping to provide ideas for creating donkey industry with high additional value.

    The course is the basic unit and main carrier of talent training,and its system construction and reform are important guarantee for higher education to improve the quality of talent training.The implementation of outstanding agricultural and forestry talents training plan and fulfillment of the education concept emphasizing"student oriented"should take the course as a breakthrough point,and the systematic reform should be carried out from the aspects of curriculum system,teaching contents,teaching methods and so on.Based on the analysis of"student oriented"education philosophy connotation and the objective of excellent agricultural and forestry talents training,taking the animal science specialty in Guangdong Ocean University as an example,the overall thinking,construction focus,supplementary measures and practical effect of the course reform under the background of credit system reform were introduced.

    Veterinary Obstetrics is a basic branch discipline in teaching of veterinary medicine specialty in agricultural colleges and universities.This curriculum mainly focuses on animal physiological reproduction,reproductive diseases,and breeding technology.With the advancement of veterinary medicine science and development and structure adjustment of national animal husbandry industry,providing practical,innovative and skilled veterinary talents to animal husbandry industry has become the main target of talents cultivation in agricultural colleges and universities.In this paper,the current situation and existing problems in teaching of Veterinary Obstetrics were analyzed,the teaching reform and innovation in teaching contents,teaching methods and teaching practice were explored,in hoping to provide references for talents cultivation in veterinary medicine in agricultural colleges and universities.

    The Association of American Veterinary Medical Colleges(AAVMC)has adopted a joint certification program in running requirements of veterinary medical college in the USA,Canada and the international veterinary medical colleges belonging to AVVMC.The purpose of the present study is to interpret the AAVMC 2016-2017 annual report on faculty and academic staff related data,including the number and proportion of administrator,tenure track faculty,non-tenure clinical faculty and non-tenure research faculty.Simultaneously,the gender and nationality ratio in these types of faculty is interpreted.We hope to provide references for connection of the Chinese and international veterinary medicine education and for establishment of standards in faculty for veterinary medical college in China.

    Due to the wide coverage of Veterinary Parasitology contents and complex and abstract of life cycle of parasites,minority students with poor Chinese proficiency always have difficulties in learning this course.In view of this situation,the computer aided instruction has been employed in teaching of Veterinary Parasitology in Tarim University.After years of exploration and practice,satisfied effects in improving minority students′learning ability and comprehensive quality are archived.Meanwhile,the problem of insufficient class time is solved.The computer aided instruction in teaching of Veterinary Parasitology was introduced in this paper,in hoping to provide a reference for teaching of minority students′course.

    Chicken infectious bronchitis is an acute and highly contagious respiratory disease caused by chicken infectious bronchitis virus(IBV),which is clinically characterized by mouth breathing,tracheal rale,cough and renal lesions.This disease always results in reduced feed conversion efficiency of broilers as well as deceased egg production and egg quality of laying hens.IBV has high-frequency mutations and multiple serotypes,which causes the complicated and various clinical and pathological changes.The quick emergence of mutant strains and poor cross-protection between different virus strains bring great difficulty to the diagnosis and prevention of this disease.This paper reviews the research progress of pathogenic agent typing,diagnostic technique and comprehensive control measures of chicken infectious bronchitis.

    General clinical signs of porcine epidemic diarrhea(PED)comprise of diarrhea,vomiting and high mortality in diseased suckling piglets.The prevalence of PED in pig farms poses a great threat to the porcine health.Clinically,differential diagnosis between PED and porcine transmissible gastroenteritis is always difficult.The accuracy and timeliness of laboratory diagnosis techniques exert a crucial role in accurate and rapid diagnosis of PED.Recently,the commonly used diagnosis methods of PDE are pathogen detection technique,serum neutralization test,ELISA assay,real-time fluorescence quantitative RT-PCR assay(RT-qPCR),reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction technique(RT-PCR),multiplex PCR assay,immune colloidal gold technique and so on.

    [Objective]To investigate the prevalence of Cryptosporidium infection in primates in Hefei Wildlife Park.[Method]The feces samples were collected from Lemur catta,Erythrocebus patas,Papio hamadryas and the other three kinds of primates reared in Hefei Wildlife Park,in which the presence of oocysts were screened by saturated sucrose solution floating method.The oocysts were stained by acid-fast staining method and were morphologically observed.Furthermore,the genomic DNA of oocysts recovered from the feces samples were extracted and the Cryptosporidium oocyst wall protein(COWP)gene were amplified using PCR assay.The PCR product were subsequently identified by 1%agarose gel electrophoresis.The incidence of Cryptosporidium infection in primates in this wildlife park was calculated.[Results]The morphological identification demonstrated that the size of the obtained oocysts was 4.66μm×5.18μm which was similar to the morphological characteristics of the Cryptosporidium oocysts reported previously;the size of the PCR product was 377 bp which was consistent with the expected size of the COWP fragment;the incidence of Cryptosporidium infection in primates in this wildlife park was 16.67%.[Conclusion]The prevalence of Cryptosporidium infection in primates in Hefei Wildlife Park was observed,indicating a potential zoonotic risk.
