Abstract: Milk urea nitrogen (MUN) as a biological index of protein nutritional status and protein utilization efficiency of dairy cows has been widely recognized by researchers at home and abroad.In this paper,the definition,detection methods,production mechanism and nutritional and non-nutritional factors affecting urea nitrogen in milk were summarized,in hoping to provide reference for dairy cow breeding.
