Abstract: The aim of the experiment was to study the ruminal degradation and intestinal digestion of different carbohydrate components from maize and soybean meal. The carbohydrate components in the entire samples of maize and soybean meal samples, ruminal undegraded residues and residues from digested small intestinal fluid freeze dried powder were subdivided by ruminal nylon bag technique and small intestinal fluid freeze dried powder digestion experiment combined with the CNCPS subdivision theory, and the characteristics of ruminal degradation and intestinal digestion of different components were discussed. The result showed that the rumen degradability of the dry matter from maize and soybean meal were 59.1% and 7.2.7 %, resp, and that of carbohydrate were 69.6 % and 66.2 %, resp. The small intestinal digestibility of the dry matter from ruminal undegraded residues were 40.8 %and 68.0 %, resp, and that of carbohydrate were 40.4 % and 62.7 %, resp. The ruminal nylon bag and small intestinal fluid freeze dried powder could be used as the method for studying the ruminant degradation, and combined with CNCPS for the component subdivision, it could be used to study the utilization of carbohydrate and its components better.
