Abstract: Manganese was a necessary microelement for animal and it played an important physiological function in animal. It not only was the component of some important enzymes in organism,but also had colse relationship with the growth and hematopoietic function of bone. Besides,manganese was toxic for animal. The content,distribution,metabolism,biological function,deficiency and excess of manganese in animal were summarized intensively by the writer.
