Abstract: Orientia tsutsugamushi is a pathogen with chigger mites as the sole media. The researches of Orientia tsutsugamushi antigen mainly focus on the proteins with molecular weight (Mr) of 22 000, 47 000, 56 000, 58 000 and 110 000, etc. In the present article, we reviewed protein structure, gene structure and homology, B and T cell epitopes, application values of those antigen proteins in diagnosis and type classification, as well as the application prospects of the candidate vaccine, so as to provide theoretical basis for prevention and treatment of scrub typhus.
