Effects of Bisphenol A on Behavior of Mice

Abstract: [Objective] To explore effects of bisphenol A(BPA) exposure in perinatal period on sociality and sexual behavior in adulthood of C57BL/6J mice.[Method] The female dams were orally gavaged with BPA at a dosage of 200 μg/(kg·bw) every day in the perinatal period.The behaviors of male offspring at 70 days old were observed in male-female social interaction tests.[Result] The affiliation behaviors of BPA-treated male mice to opposite sex stimulus were not changed greatly.However,compared to control mice,the BPA-treated male mice had significantly fewer mounting behaviors.[Conclusion] Perinatal exposure to BPA reduces sexual behavior of male mice.
