Efficacy of Mequindoc Liniment and Sulfated Apramycin Injection on Yellow Scour of New-Born Piglets

Abstract: A total of 196 piglets from 20 cotes suffering from yellow scour were selected from a newly built pig farm in Ningxia region.They were assigned into two groups according to their cote.The 96 piglets in the group 1 were smeared with 2 mL mequindoc liniment in back of ear or back.The 100 piglets in the group 2 were injected with sulfated apramycin,0.2 mL/kg.BW.After treatment,81 piglets were cured in the group 1,and the mequindoc liniment was efficacious in 11 piglets,therefore,the cure rate was 84.37%.A total of 91 piglets were cured in the group 2,and the sulfated apramycin was efficacious in eight piglets,therefore,the cure rate was 91.00%.These results showed that mequindoc liniment and sulfated apramycin have good curative effect and can be used to treat yellow scour of new-born piglets.
