Abstract: Identifying the key genes regulating maize seed vigor is of great significance for breeding maize varieties with superior seed vigor. In recent years,genome-wide association study(GWAS) has been widely applied to the research on maize seed vigor traits. This paper reviews the research progress of GWAS in phenotypic traits related to maize seed vigor, summarizes the identified important quantitative trait locus(QTLs) and their candidate genes, analyzes the existing problems and challenges in current research, and outlooks on the research directions of genetic improvement of seed vigor in the future, with the aim to provide references for breeding high-quality maize varieties with superior seed vigor.

Key words: Maize, Seed vigor, GWAS, QTLs, Candidate genes
