Abstract: The physiological and biochemical responses of sunflower to salt stress were discussed with respect to the effect of salt stress on seeds, growth, photosynthsis,water-metabolizability and respiration by summarizing the related studies in recent years. And three resistance mechanisms of sunflower to salt stress were generalized. They were osmoregulation, absorption and compartmentation of inorganic irons and mechanisms of resistance to salt and selected absorption to inorganic ions.
