Abstract: 24 Hostein dairy calves with the similar body weight were divided into two groups （12 calls in each group）： test group and control group. The calves in test group were fed with beastings within five days after the birth, and then they were fed with milk replacer till the 42^nd day. The calves in control group were fed with milk before the 42^nd day. The results indicted that the average daily weight gain in test group was 836 g and that in control group was 679 g. The daily weight gain in test group was increased by 23.12% than that in control group.The increased values of chest girth, body height and body length of calves in test group were higher 2.90, 1.01 and 1.56 cm respectively than that in control group, without significant difference. The test group and the control group had no significant difference between the cannon circumference.It was indicated that milk replacer had good production effect, so it could take place of milk.
