Abstract: A antagonistic bacterium strain 2-14 against Verticillium dahliae , which had pathogen of the verticillium wilt, was screened from cotton soil. It was identified as Bacillus velezensis through colony and cell morphologic observation, physiologic and biochemical identification as well as the identification of 16S rDNA. The results of the inhibition spectrum experiments showed that the strain 2-14 had the inhibitory effect on several plant pathogens, which had a higher research value.
