Abstract: Meat sheep industry can help to increase income of farmers and meet needs of urban and rural residents. It is also in favor of sustainable, rapid and healthy development of future sheep industry. Varieties, forage resources and development status of meat sheep industry in Zunyi City were introduced. Countermeasures to develop future meat sheep industry were proposed, including transforming mode of production, accelerating system construction, strengthening intensity of policy, increasing financial support, centering base construction and developing leading enterprises.
