Abstract: The ecosystem service value and functional value of different grassland types in Dulan County of Qinghai Province were evaluated. The results showed that the annual average value of grassland system was 55.40 ×108 RMB yuan. And the total ecosystem service value provided by various kinds of grassland were as follows：temperate desert（16.50×108 RMB yuan） temperate grassland（13.64×108 RMB yuan） alpine meadow（11.60×108 RMB yuan） alpine grassland（7.61×108 RMB yuan） lowland meadow（6.05×108 RMB yuan） . Among various kinds of functional value of grassland,the economic value for providing the food production was only small part of grassland service value. The main service for human provided by grassland ecosystem was its potential indirect ecosystem function and service value.
