Abstract: Meat sheep industry occupies an important position in animal husbandry in Xinjiang, and sheep farming income is the main income for many herdsman. But there are some factors like grassland degradation, lack of development funds, backward mode of production and low level of industrialized, etc. to restrict the development of Xinjiang meat sheep industry. The main constrains were analyzed from the current situation in Xinjiang meat sheep industry, and then policy recommendations were put forward in order to provide basis for local government to make the policy of meat sheep industry.
