Abstract: The phased low-concentrated diet scheme was adopted based on cattle physiological characteristics and metabolic compensation mechanisms at different developmental stages. On the former stage of fattening, the cattle were mainly fed with roughage complemented with appropriate amount of protein feed; on the latter stage of fattening, the cattle were mainly fed with high energy feed with appropriate amount of roughage as adjustment. Compared with continuous concentrated diet scheme, the results showed that the cattle ADG of low concentrated diet scheme was 1.57 kg, which was increased by 15.9% relatively; low- concentrate diet scheme saved concentrated feed consumption, and reduced the cost of fattening by 22.7%. Meanwhile, the phased low-concentrated diet scheme could reduce damage of continuous concentrated diet on rumen so as to ensure the healthy growth of fattening cattle.
