Abstract: Based on the experimental design and stipulated index, cross experiment was carried out by using royal chickens as male parent and Guangxi-sanhuang chickens as female parent. After the breeding of hybrid offsprings, the target traits were fixed by the backcross method. The laying performance and egg quality of hybrid F3 were evaluated. The results showed that the hybrid F3 had a high survival rate in laying period and less feed consumption. The qualified rate of hatching egg of the hybrid 173 was higher. The hybrid F3 had an excellent laying performance, their egg weight (EW), shell strength (SS), shell thickness (ST), yolk color (YC), the relative density of eggs (RDE), egg shape index (SI), yolk index (YI), eggshell proportion (EP), yolk proportion (YP), protein proportion (PP), Haugh unit (HU) were 38.92 g, 3.98 kg/cm2, 313.67 μm, 7.19, 1.06, 1.39, 0.44, 0.11, 0.35, 0.54 and 78.65, respectively.
