Abstract: In order to understand the epidemiological characteristics of canine coronavirus (CCoV or CCV) disease in Zhengzhou area of Henan Province, a total of 209 suspected cases visiting a large scale animal hospital in Zhengzhou from March 2015 to March 2016 were included in this study and were investigated. The results showed that 42.31% of the cases were confirmed as CCoV infection positive; purebred dogs and male dogs seemed to be more sensitive to CCoV infection than crossbred dogs and female dogs; the prevalence of CCoV infection was observed in the whole year, and higher prevalence was observed in spring and autumn; higher infection rate of CCoV was found in dogs younger than 90 days of age, and it was reduced with the increase of age. The combined data suggest that there is higher prevalence of CCoV infection in canine in Zhengzhou area, indicating that more attention should be paid.
