Abstract: Based on the climate characteristics and the forage requirement in Wumeng mountain area of Guizhou Province, the mixed seeding experiments of Medicago sativa cv. Beilin 202 with Bromus catharticus cv. Qiannan and Dactylis glomerata cv.Qiancao No.4 were conducted, respectively. Furthermore, in order to evaluate the increasing production benefit of Medicago sativa cv. Beilin 202 with Bromus catharticus cv. Qiannan and Dactylis glomerata cv. Qiancao No.4 in mixed seeding system, a comparative analysis was carried out between the mixed seeding population and the single seeding mode of the three kinds of forage grass from the aspects of growth period, yield, nutritional quality and feeding value. The results showed that the yield of mixed seeding grass with Medicago sativa cv. Beilin 202 was increased by 7.57% and 8.00% than that of the single seeding of Bromus catharticus cv. Qiannan and Dactylis glomerata cv. Qiancao No.4, respectively, and the economic benefits were increased by 14.01% and 15.34%, respectively. In conclusion, the mixed seeding of Medicago sativa cv. Beilin 202 with gramineous forage not only increases the herbage yield but also elevates the herbage feed value, and good economic benefit is gained.
