Abstract: General clinical signs of porcine epidemic diarrhea(PED)comprise of diarrhea,vomiting and high mortality in diseased suckling piglets.The prevalence of PED in pig farms poses a great threat to the porcine health.Clinically,differential diagnosis between PED and porcine transmissible gastroenteritis is always difficult.The accuracy and timeliness of laboratory diagnosis techniques exert a crucial role in accurate and rapid diagnosis of PED.Recently,the commonly used diagnosis methods of PDE are pathogen detection technique,serum neutralization test,ELISA assay,real-time fluorescence quantitative RT-PCR assay(RT-qPCR),reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction technique(RT-PCR),multiplex PCR assay,immune colloidal gold technique and so on.
