Diagnosis and Treatment of a Case of Canine Esophageal Obstruction

Abstract: Esophageal foreign body obstruction in dogs is a commonly observed disease in clinical pet care.In early stage of this disease,the symptoms always include dysphagia and reflux after ingestion of food.With prolongation of the course of this disease,the sick dogs always completely loss of appetite(anorexia).Clinical diagnosis can be made by X-ray examination.An immediate treatment is required once the confirmed diagnosis is made.The clinical diagnosis,treatment and postoperative nursing of a case of canine esophageal foreign body obstruction were expounded in this paper,in hoping to provide some guidance for the future clinical practice.
