Abstract: Sporadic abortion was observed in the pregnant ewes of a goat farm in Pingxiang of Jiangxi Province. In order to determine whether the incidence of goat abortion was associated with Brucella infection or not and to understand the prevalence of brucellosis in this goat farm, a total of 100 goat serum were sampled randomly and preliminary identified by RBPT. The positive serum was retested by SAT. The results showed that the positive rate of brucellosis in this goat farm was 20%, indicating that routine monitoring and effective control measures against brucellosis were required.
