Abstract: Since its foundation, Tongliao City Academy of Agricultural Sciences （abbreviated as TAAS） has always kept in step with the process of domestic maize breeding. Presently,conventional breeding methods were mostly adopted in China. In addition,the problems, such as narrow foundation of core germplasm, less major varieties for production and inferior risk resistance capacity did exist in terms of breeding.The key to solve these problems is to strengthen the innovation of breeding technique and germplasm so that more new inbred lines and coenospecies could be cultivated unceasingly to support the sustainable development of maize production.
