Abstract: Based on studies on the planting technique of alfalfa in slight saline-alkali land and semi-arid area, main points in the planting technique of alfalfa in slight saline-alkali land and semi-arid area were put forward. The budding percentage, emergence rate, turning green conditions and grass production of Medicago sativa cv. Aohan, Medicago sativa L. cv. Zhongmu No. 1, ＂Algonquin＂ and ＂Golden Queen＂ were determined. The further popularization and application of planting technique of alfalfa could effectively relieve the contradiction between grain and grass as well as has important significance in developing new forage resources.
