Study on the Variety Breeding of High-quality Chicken

Abstract: Indigenous chicken breed is an important germplasm for breeding new high-quality chicken variety. To fully utilize good germplasm characteristics during the breeding process of new variety, other chicken breeds or lines were hybridized with indigenous chicken, in order to combine more fine traits, even exceed their parents and apply the heterosis in the production. The results showed that the offspring of hybridizing recessive cyan-foot white-feather chicken as the maternal line with Tibetan indigenous chicken as the paternal line had good economic benefits, whose shape and appearance were similar to Tibetan chicken. And the meat of offspring had good taste and flavor of high-quality chicken, so they could be used in large-scale scatter-fed production. The methodology study on two-line hybrid high-quality chicken was of great significance for enriching and guiding the breeding practice of livestock and poultry.
