Abstract: Pigs per mated sow per year (PSY) is a comprehensive index to evaluate the productive performance of sows and is of great significance for the efficient and sustainable development of pig farms. The facilities and operations of pig production should be pig-oriented and the precise management should be implemented, so as to make full use of pig potential and to achieve stable and high yield. The fine management techniques for increasing annual productivity of sows are discussed from the aspects of enhancing infrastructure construction in pig farms, introducing welfare concept into pig production, selecting breeding pigs with superior productive performance, and improving survival rate of weaned piglets.
