Abstract: Lipoprotein lipase,a hydrolytic enzyme involving in fat decomposition, transport and deposition, has genetic polymorphisms that play important roles in animals.Abnormalities in the LPL gene can lead to varying degrees of physiological and pathological changes in animals. In recent years, studies have found that LPL genes in mammalian can be used as a genetic marker gene. The research progress of the biological function of LPL gene in livestock and its relationship with carcass quality was reviewed,in hoping to provide a scientific basis for further revealing the biological function of this gene and giving full play to its role in improving livestock carcass quality.
