Abstract: In order to investigate the prevalence of rotavirus infection associated calf diarrhea in some areas of Daqing City of Heilongjiang Province, six randomly collected fecal samples from calf with diarrhea were detected for the presence of VP7 gene of bovine rotavirus by suing RT-PCR assay, and the VP7 gene positive samples were subjected to genotyping via multiple semi-nested PCR assay. The results showed that all of the six clinical samples were positive for VP7 gene of bovine rotavirus, and they were all proved to belong to G10 type. It was indicated that the G-type bovine rotavirus was one of the main causative agents associated with the calf diarrhea in Daqing area. Therefore, the prevent and control measures targeting on G-type bovine rotavirus infection should be implemented.
