Abstract: In order to enrich the research literature about the morphology of Grus grus, a systematical observation on morphological structures of the digestive tract of Grus grus was carried out. The results showed that Grus grus had a developed tongue avoiding the food from rolling out of the mouth; esophagus was a muscular tube with biggish retractility, and there was developed longitudinal plica in the internal wall; no obvious crop was observed; there were short and small papilla on the surface of the glandular stomach; the muscular stomach was well developed and covered with yellow horniness inside; the small intestine was relatively developed and the longest in the intestine; the appendix was quite developed. In conclusion, the Grus grus has typical characteristics of digestive system of omnivorous bird.
