Abstract: Sheep Production is the main course of animal science major and emphasizes the combination of theoretical knowledge and practical ability. According to the features of this course such as extensive teaching content and strong practicality, and existing problems in teaching of this course such as deficient interest in study and poor practical ability of undergraduates, the teaching reform of Sheep Production is conducted and explored in the following aspects of teaching content, teaching method, and examination system. The teaching effect and quality of Sheep Production is improved by implementing the teaching reform, which lays the teaching foundation for cultivation of high quality talents with professional and technical ability that are able to adapt to the modern sheep production.
