Abstract: In order to study the effect of goat itch mite disease to the body oxygen free radicals and antioxidant system, activities of GSH- Px, T-SOD and CAT as well as contents of MDA and LPO of healthy goats and infection goats were determined, respectively. Results showed that the activities of GSH-Px and T-SOD in serum of infection goats was significantly lower than control group (P〈0.01), while there was no significant difference in the activity of CAT; the content of MDA of infection goats was significantly higher than control group (P〈0.05), and the content of LPO of infection goats was also significantly higher than control group (P〈0.01). It is suggested that the contents of oxygen free radicals and lipid peroxide in body increase after goat is infected by itch mite disease, while the activities of antioxidant enzymes decrease.
