Abstract: In order to study the effect of red yeast rice on the production performance of laying hens, 240 30-week Hailan gray layers were randomly divided into four groups and then fed with different doses of red yeast rice. Results showed that adding l%e of red yeast rice in layer ration could improve the rate of egg production and average egg weight and could reduce the feed-egg ration. If the amount of red yeast rice is increased, the rate of egg production and average egg weight would lower than control, while the feed-egg ration would higher than control. So the production performance of laying hens could be improved if the right amount of red yeast rice is added in the diet of laying hens.
