[Objective] In order to detect the bovine and ovine-derived components in feedstuffs of ruminant animal in food derived from them, and to evaluate the bio-security situations of animal feed. [Method] The conventional PCR has been used to detect 300 samples in Henan Province. [Result] The result showed that the qualified rate was 99.33%. Among these products, the qualified rate was 99.23% in 260 batches of ruminant feed and the qualified rate was 100% in 40 batches of animal-derived material feed. Both of the two samples of unqualified products are cattle-derived material. [Conclusion] There is a potential security risk in ruminant feed.

The chromosome number of hybrid Rumex K-1 and its male parent Rumex tianschanicus in Tianshan Mountain were studied. The results indicated that the chromosome number of Rumex K-1 was 2n=60. The chromosome number of its female parent Rumex patientia L. was 2n=60 and that of its male parent Rumex tianschanicus was 2n=20. The karyotype formula of Rumex tianschanicus was 2n=18m(2SAT)+2sm. The analysis at chromosome level showed that Rumex K-1 had a closer genetic relationship with Rumex patientia L. and a far genetic relationship with Rumex tianschanicus.

Wet fermented protein feeds are the products of maize which are treated by yeast fermentation, alcohol extraction, probiotics fermentation and sealing packaging. Through fattening experiment of cow, results showed that after one cow was fed with 4 kg wet fermented protein feed, milk yield was improved by 2.18 kg, and income was increased by 2.03 yuan/d per cow, which suggested good yield-increasing effect and significant economic benefit. Besides, it was found that adding 4 kg wet fermented protein feed every day had no significant effect on milk composition.

In order to compare the differences of water content between breast muscle and leg muscle of AA chicken, 49-day-old AA chicken from Dongtai City and Suqian City of Jiangsu Province were slaughtered to determine the water content in its breast muscle and leg muscle. The results showed that the water content in breast muscle of AA chicken from two sources was 73.70% and 73.98% respectively. Water content in leg muscle of AA chicken from two sources was 75.44% and 74.56% respectively. The water content in leg muscle of AA chicken from two sources was extremely significantly higher than that in breast muscle (P〈0.01). These results could provide basic data for establishing the standards of the meat quality and improving the meat quality in the AA chicken.

In order to study the effect of red yeast rice on the production performance of laying hens, 240 30-week Hailan gray layers were randomly divided into four groups and then fed with different doses of red yeast rice. Results showed that adding l%e of red yeast rice in layer ration could improve the rate of egg production and average egg weight and could reduce the feed-egg ration. If the amount of red yeast rice is increased, the rate of egg production and average egg weight would lower than control, while the feed-egg ration would higher than control. So the production performance of laying hens could be improved if the right amount of red yeast rice is added in the diet of laying hens.

The content of water in 20 kinds of feeds were determined by using GB/T 6435-1986 determination method, GB/T 6435-2006 determination method and SH10A rapid determination method. Results showed that the three determination methods had no significant effect on the content of water, among them GB/T 6435-1986 determination method needed a long time, and SHIOA rapid determination method could be affected by external factors although it can detect water content fast. Based on comprehensive consideration, it is considered that GB/T 6435-2006 determination method is most suitable for the front line of oroduction.

Cobalt, as one of essential trace elements for animals, plays an important role in animal hematopoiesis, immunity, growth and reproductive performance, especially in microbes synthesis of vitamin BI2 for the ruminants. Also, cobalt can take more obvious effects with other trace elements. Cobalt deficiency will result in the degradation of animal productive performance so as to cause huge economic losses in animal husbandry. Therefore, with the depth of the scientific research, the important nutritional functions of cobalt have been also found gradually and attracted more attentions of people. The biological effects, the mechanisms of nutritional and deficiency disease, the relationship with other nutrients as well as the important role in animal nutrition were discussed in this paper.

Bacterial biofilm is a biopolymer matrix-enclosed bacterial population adherent to biotic or abiotic surfaces. This adaptation has been implicated as a survival strategy. Most of bacteria can form biofilm under proper conditions. Antibiotics are generally not very effective against organisms embedded in biofilms (sessile bacteria) in comparison with free-floating organisms (planktonic bacteria). This was one of the important reasons why infections were difficult to treat nowadays. How to form the biofilm, drug resistance mechanism and diseases caused by bacterial biofilm were conclude in this paper. The effective control methods were discussed. The information was useful to direct using antibiotics reasonable and developing new drugs.

To master and control the changes the hair color genes of alpaca could effectively regulate the changes of hair colors of alpaca. The hair phenotypes of mammals are related to the types, amount, composition and distribution of melanin in animals. In the skin tissue of alpaca, Agouti gene ,MC1R gene, tyrosine gene family, KIT gene ,A1F gene ,~-catenin gene, Wnt3et gene ,Mitf-M gene ,EDNRA gene ,EDNRB gene, CDK5 gene, PRS5 gene, P gene and piebaldness mutation all participated in the formation and regulation of alpaca hair color.

The interaction between DNA and protein is one important field of gene expression regulation in the post-genome era. There are many methods to study the interaction between DNA and protein at present, but chromatin immunoprecipitation assay (CHIP) is more suitable comparing with them. Besides, cloning technique and DNA chip technology could be combined to high-throughput screen the unknown DNA targets of known protein factors and study the distribution of trans-acting factors in whole genome so as to enhance the development and occurrence of DNA-protein interaction regulatory networks. The research progress of ChIP was introduced, and its prospect was prospected.

The immune antibody and etiology detection of highly-pathogenic avian influenza virus were carried out. The results showed that the average qualified rate of immune antibody of all samples was 70.80%. The monitoring results showed that the immune antibody of highly-pathogenic avian influenza virus from different breeds, different breeding scale and different months. The qualified rate of immune antibody of highly-pathogenic avian influenza virus of laying chicken and breeding hens was above 80%, but the immune antibody levels of broiler chicken and waterfowl were lower. The average qualified rate of immune antibody of highly-pathogenic avian influenza virus in poultry farms with the scale of more than 1 000 chicken was all above 70%. And the qualified rate of immune antibody in the poultry farms with the scale of less than 1 000 chicken and rural scatter- fed chicken was 27.45% and 32.84% respectively, which did not reach the national standards of agricultural administration in China. The average qualified rate of samples collected in June was lower and there was no significant difference among other months. The etiology detection showed that the detection results of highly-pathogenic avian influenza virus of all detected samples were negative.

Symptoms of mycotoxin poisoning appeared in some scale pig farm in April 2012, such as a significant reduction of the conception rate in gilts, litter size and healthy litter size. Through preliminary investigation, it was found that the feed in the farm had been polluted by mycotoxin, so types and contents of mycotoxins in raw maize and feed samples were determined by HPLC. Results showed that zearalenone, vomitoxin and mycotoxin in raw maize were excessive. The reproductive performance of sow was significantly recovered by changing feed and using anti-mildew agent.
