Abstract: The study aimed to study the effects of different feeding ways on the growth performance and economic benefits of beef cattle in winter. Eighteen crossbred beef cattle with body weight of about (201 ±21.46) kg , similar age and body size were randomly divided into 3 groups. The cattle in test group 1 was fed with 10 kg green alfalfa,2 kg mixed concentrate and corn stalk freely. The cattle in test group 2 were fed with 2 kg green alfalfa,8 kg green ryegrass,2 kg mixed concentrate and corn stalk freely. The cattle in test group 3 were fed with 5 kg green alfalfa, 5 kg green ryegrass, 2 kg mixed concentrate and corn stalk freely. The results showed that the total weight, daily gain per head, daily weight gain income and gross income in test group 1 were significantly different with that in test group 2 (P〈0.05). These indices in test group 3 had significant difference with test group 2 (P〈0.05)and no significant difference with test group 1(P〉0.05). Therefore the feeding method in test group 2 had better effects.
