Abstract: The blood routine indices of mice that were administrated with swainsonine, quinolizidine alkaloids and the mixture of these two kinds of alkaloid by gastric perfusion were detected by using automatic animal blood cell analyzer. And the effects of alkaloid in Oxytropis glabra on the hematological indices of mice were discussed. The results showed that swainsonine at low dose could enhance the number of blood cells and swainsonine at high dose could enhance the number of blood cells, with significant difference. Quinolizidine alkaloids at low dose almost had no effect on the number of blood cells. Quinolizidine alkaloids at high dose could significantly decrease the number of RBC, WBC, granulocyte and lymphocyte, but its effects on the content of haemoglobin was not significant. In the mixture of these two kinds of alkaloid at low dose, the number of blood cells was gradually increased with the prolonging of test time. On the contrary, the number of blood cells was gradually decreased at high dose.
