Abstract: The construction of major cluster application-oriented universities aims to gather advantage resources to build a specialty chain that fits to local economic development. Animal production major cluster covers animal husbandry production industry chain such as husbandry raw materials, husbandry facilities and equipment, animal production management, animal disease prevention and control, and so on, and it is composed of several majors serving animal husbandry production. The core components including strengthening shared curriculum system, experimental teaching platform, teachers and construction of outof-school practice bases were pointed out in this paper.
