Abstract: [Objective] To optimize extraction process of efficient components in Huang-jin powder.[Method] Orthogonal test was used for optimization.Baicalin content was used as an indicator and determined by UV spectrophotometry.[Result] As indicated by the determination data,the optimum conditions for baicalin extraction are as follows：water volume,12 times;decoction,twice;once 3 h.[Conclusion] Decoction with water has simple operation,rapid determination and accurate determination results,and it thus can be used for extraction of efficient components in Huang-jin powder.
