Abstract: Geminin is a kind of 25 kD nucleoprotein, which plays an important role in cell proliferation, cell differentiation, embryonic development and tumorigenesis and other aspects. Geminin expressed in different regions in different developmental stages and it could be used as an inhibitory factor or an inductive factor to participate in the regulation of embryonic development. Geminin-transgenic zebrafish was established to regulate the up-regulated or down-regulated expression in vivo, which was a kind of common method for studying the functions of geminin. The research advances on the structure and functions of geminin and its roles in the embryonic development and the related experimental technologies were expounded.
