Abstract: Veterinary Microbiology is a professional basic curriculum in the undergraduate course system of the veterinary medicine major. It involves a wide range of contents and has quick knowledge updates. The limited class time cannot satisfy the undergraduates′ learning expectation for the cutting-edge knowledge of the discipline. The traditional fill-in teaching mode cannot effectively exert the undergraduates′ initiative and accordingly affects the improvement of teaching quality. Fragmented mobile micro-learning based on smart phones has been widely used in the teaching process of foreign language course and other liberal art courses because it caters to the needs of recreational learning and life-long learning. However, it has not been fully promoted in teaching of non-literary majors such as microbiology. This paper introduces the concept and research status of fragmented mobile micro-learning, analyzes its application in teaching of Veterinary Microbiology, in hoping to provide references for the teaching reform of related disciplines.
