Enlightenment from the Teaching Method of Australian Universities to the Undergraduates' Animal Experimental Skills Improvement in Jilin Agricultural Science and Technology College

Abstract: In the field of life science research, both of experimental animals and animal experiments play a very important role. In order to improve the training of undergraduates' animal experimental skills to meet the needs of employment, combining the teaching methods of Australian universities, we adjusted and improved the theoretical and experimental teaching content and methods of Experimental Animal Technology for relevant majors in College of Animal Science and Technology, Jilin Agricultural Science and Technology College. The 'student-oriented' teaching idea was emphasized, and the group cooperation and problem-oriented teaching model was employed in theoretical teaching; the experimental teaching aimed to improve the undergraduates' animal experimental skills by using the project method in combination with the teacher's scientific research. Various teaching methods were integrated to improve the teaching efficiency, in hoping to improve the undergraduates' animal experimental skills, scientific and technological innovation ability and employment competitiveness.
