Research Advances on Extraction Technology of Plant Active Ingredients and Their Therapeutic Mechanism for Bacterial Mastitis in Dairy Cows

Abstract: Application of plant extracts in prevention and treatment of dairy cow mastitis conforms to the national requirement and industry trend of reducing and limiting use of antibiotics. This paper summarizes the commonly used extraction methods for plant active ingredients, introduces the underlying mechanism of bacterial mastitis, and reviews the antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory mechanisms of plant active ingredients, in hoping to provide new insights into the selection of drugs for treatment of dairy cow mastitis in veterinary clinic.
