Abstract: Coated slow-release nitrogen fertilizer application was one of the effective ways to increase nitrogen fertilizer utilization and decrease environment pollution. Lignite was a kind of material with water-solution humic-acid and had no pollution to the environment. Coated urea fertilizer here was made with active-Lignite coated and urea enfolded, and pot experiment applied with coated urea and common urea on wheat used to test this kind fertilizer in Inner Mongolia Agriculture University. The results showed that compared with common urea treatment, plant N accumulation and grain yield were higher than under coated urea treatment. The particle per panicle, yield per plant increased 8.2% and 13.3%, and maturity plant N accumulation increased 15.8% respectively with coated urea than common urea. Above all, activated lignite coated urea had an active effect on wheat growth and N use efficiency.
