  • Comparative Test on Different Alfalfa Cultivars Planted in Greenhouse

    In order to understand the production performance of alfalfa cultivars planted in greenhouse, the comparative test on six alfalfa cultivars was made . The results showed that the total hay yield of WL323 alfalfa cultivar was the highest , reaching 18 758.33 kg/hm2. The average regeneration speed of Algonquin alfalfa cultivar was 1.44 cm/d, which was obviously higher than other cultivars. The stem-leaf ratio of cultivar Algonquin with the stubble height of 5 cm was the highest, reaching 0.873 2. The fresh grass-hay ratio of Anti-thrips alfalfa with the stubble height of 5 cm was the highest, reaching 12.846 5. The crude protein content in Alfaking was the highest, being 21.98%.
    Effects of Short-term Grazing Intensities on Soil Organic Carbon and pH Value in the Typical Steppe

    Taking Simmental cattle grazed in the typical steppe of Stipa krylovii Roshev as the research object, the effects of different short-term grazing intensities (non-grazing, light-grazing, moderate-grazing and heavy-grazing)on the soil organic carbon and pH value in the typical steppe of Inner Mongolia were analyzed and the suitable stocking rate of the typical steppe was discussed, in order to alleviate the grassland soil degradation and enhance the sustained utilization of grassland. The results showed that the content of organic carbon in 0-20 cm soil layer decreased with the increase of grazing intensities and there was significant difference under the heavy-grazing conditions. The organic carbon content in 20-30 cm soil layer was heavy-grazing〉moderate-grazing〉non-grazing〉light-grazing and there was significant difference between the heavy-grazing and light-grazing. The soil pH value significantly increased as the grazing intensities decreased. The organic carbon content in soil decreased as the soil depth increased and the order of pH value was 10-20 cm〉20-30 cm〉0-10 cm in the vertical distribution. Therefore it was essential for preventing the grassland degradation to find out the appropriate grazing intensity and sustain the balance of soil nutrients.
    Flora Analysis of Lactobacillus in the Jejunum of Adult Scatter-fed Laying Chicken

    The jejunum contents of 5 55-week-old healthy adult scatter-fed laying chicken were taken as samples to dilute to 10-6 with sterile normal saline. 0.1 mL bacteria solution was dropped on MRS flat and cultivated in 37 ℃ incubator for 24 h. The Lactobacillus was separated. The separated and purified Lactobacillus was identified by Gram staining, observation of colonial morphology and sugar fermentation test. The results showed that 20 strains of Lactobacillus were separated and screened out from the jejunum of 55-week-old healthy adult scatter-fed laying chicken. The results of microscopic examination after Gram staining showed that the isolated strains were rod-shaped or round-shaped. 7 species of Lactobacillus was identified by sugar fermentation test, including Lactobacillus salivarius subsp. salivarius, Lactobacillus coryniformis subsp. torquens, Lactobacillus salivarius subsp. salicinius, Lactobacillus agilis, Lactobacillus gasseri, Lactobacillus acidophilus and Lactobacillus delbrueckii subsp. bulgaricus.

    The effects of cysteamine(Cs) on the birth weight and weaning weight of Tibetan Sheep lamb were studied. 20 pregnant ewes with the age of (125±5)d were randomly divided into 2 groups (test group and control group). 300 mg/(kg·BW) of Cs was added in the diet concentrate in test group every two days. The test period lasted for 90 days. The birth weight was measured after parturitionand two-month-old lambs was weaned and weighted. The results showed that adding Cs in the diet concentrate in test group could enhance the birth weight by 8.33%and the weaning weight of 2-month-old was increased by 13.73%.
    Principal Component Analysis on Egg Quality Characteristics of Local Chicken Breeds in China

    The egg quality characteristics of 107 local chicken breeds in China were analyzed by using principal component analysis. The results showed that three composite indices were synthesized by six variables by matrix transformation. The accumulative contribution rate of three latent roots reached 66.82%, which indicated that the data statistics was effective and basically reflected the information of original data.

    The cutting test with 2-year-old branches of 6-year-old Sabina przewalskii from Zhangye as cutting slips was made. The cutting slips were soaked with growth regulators ZTP, ABT1 and ABT2 rooting powder, and the survival rate and growth condition were investigated after the seedlings stopped growing. The results of variance analysis and multiple comparison showed that there was significant difference among various factors. To soak for 2 h with ABT1 rooting powder with the mass fraction of 100 mg/kg had the greatest influences on the cutting and rooting. To soak for 2 h with ABT1 rooting powder with the mass fraction of 100 mg/kg had greatest influences on the root length and biomass of the cutting taproot. The results of range analysis showed that the most influencing factor on the rooting rate of cutting slips was the kind of growth regulators, the mass fraction was the second, and the soaking time was the third. And the most influencing factor on the root amount and root length of cutting slips was the kind of growth regulators, the soaking time was the second and the mass fraction was the third.

    The research literature about the domestic bovine viral diarrhea-mucosal disease during 1980 -2013 was retrieved from CNKI website. The publishing year, authors and their institutions, source journals and support fund of these related literatures were analyzed by bibliometric analysis. The research situation and development trend of this disease in China were summarized, so as to provide information support for effectively preventing and controlling this disease and promoting the healthy development of cattle industry in future.

    In order to study the economic benefits and social benefits of breeding excellent local sheep breeds, the slaughter test of Sunit bred sheep was carried out. The results showed that the average live weight,carcass weight and net meat weight of Sunit bred ewes and bred wethers were 47.70, 22.50, 17.60 kg and 51.60, 25.00, 19.60 kg respectively. Their slaughter rate and net meat rate reached 47.10%, 36.80%and 48.30%, 38.00%respectively. Their eye muscle areas could reach higher levels, being 13.70 and 15.10 cm2 respectively. The coefficient of variation of net meat weight,carcass weight and live weight were higher and that of bred ewes and bred wethers were 13.46%,12.97%, 10.80%and 8.11%,7.86%, 6.25%respectively.

    Selecting four representative counties or cities ( Dushan County,Daozhen County,Bijie City and Songtao County ) of Guizhou Province as experimental sites, the field production test on chicory cultivar Qianyu 1 was made with Cichorium intybus cv. Puna as control. The fresh grass yield and hay yield of chicory cultivar Qianyu 1 planted in different areas were determined and the production level of chicory cultivar Qianyu 1 was discussed, so as to provide scientific basis for its large-scale production. The result showed that the yield of chicory cultivar Qianyu 1 in the production test in four experimental sites was all higher, and its average yield of fresh grass in Dushan County, Daozhen County, Bijie City and Songtao County was all more than 95 001.6 kg/hm 2. The average yield of fresh grass of Cichorium intybus cv. Puna was 83 732.0 kg/hm2. And the average output of chicory cultivar Qianyu 1 increased by 13.4%than that of Cichorium intybus cv. Puna.

    Zoology course is composed of two parts of theory and experiment lessons in higher agricultural universities. The regular grade of theory course took 30% of total grade, which was composed of daily performance, scores from the network testing platform, and mid-term exam results. The regular grade of experiment course took 50% of total score, which included daily performance, the participation and completion situations of designing experiment, visiting Hefei Wild Zoo, capturing arthropods and preparing insect specimen on Dashu Mountain and other taches. The measurement and evaluation system of regular grades could evaluate the performance of every student justly and played the roles of inspiring students to learn new knowledge, making great progress, and participating in the scientific research.

The orientation of training the hospital pharmacy personnel was mainly was the cultivated pharmacy personnel by local universities for Department of Pharmacy and the pharmacy-related departments. The hospital pharmacy personnel was different from the higher research pharmaceutical talents, which required rich and practical basic pharmaceutical knowledge, drug examination and other basic skills and could adapt to the working conditions of hospitals. The hospital pharmacy-oriented personnel training was a kind of application-oriented personnel. The teaching reform of pharmacology oriented by this kind of personnel was discussed.

    Genome sequencing technology is the most commonly used technique in molecular biology and its related discipline studies. Genome sequencing technology has made great progresses and changed the status of life science research in many fields since the first-generation of sequencing technology appeared in the 1970s. The sharp decline of sequencing cost and exponential increase of sequencing throughout greatly improved the sequencing speed. The two basic genetic materials of organism are DNA and RNA, whose composition and sequence changes create all sorts of lives in the world. It is of important significance to get the genetic information of organisms fast and accurately for life science research. Sequencing technology can reflect genome and transcription of genetic information truly and reveal the complexity and diversity of genome, which plays a very important role in life science research. The development achievements, sequencing principle, the advantages and disadvantages of sequencing, domestic research status of each generation of sequencing technology were reviewed. And the future development direction of sequencing technology was predicted.

    2 391 bovine serum samples were collected from 17 dairy farms of Inner Mongolia to detect the antibody level of bovine viral diarrhea-mucosal disease by ELISA. The antigen detection of bovine viral diarrhea-mucosal disease was made on 222 antibody-negative serum samples by ELISA. The results showed that positive BVDV antibody was detected in 17 dairy farms. And there were 2 125 positive serum samples,and the highest positive rate was 100%and the lowest positive rate was 46.8%and the average positive rate was 88.9%. BVDV antigens in 14 dairy farms were detected and that in 5 dairy farms were positive. The positive rate was 3.6%(8/222). It was shown that the bovine viral diarrhea generally existed in dairy farms of Inner Mongolia with higher infection rate. And persistent infection (PI) cattle were existed in cow herd.

    Separation, Identification and Drug Sensitivity Test of Escherichia coli in Diarrhea Piglets

    In order to understand main serotypes and their pathogenicity of pathogenic Escherichia coli that caused yellow-white dysentery of piglets in Liangzhou Prefecture, Wuwei City of Gansu Province, 60 anal swabs of piglets were collected from 4 large-scale pig farms in Liangzhou Prefecture. And 20 strains of E. coli were separated by the bacterial isolation and culture methods. And the separated strains were identified as pathogenic E. coli by morphological observation and biochemical test. The results of serotype identification showed that 20 isolated strains were distributed in eight serotypes. And the dominant serotype was O8 (9 strains), which took 45%of total isolated strains. The results of drug sensitivity test showed that the isolated strains had resistance to common clinical drugs. The research could provide scientific references for the epidemiologic study, diagnosis and immunological control of piglet diarrhea in Liangzhou Prefecture.
