Abstract: Using the frozen embryo transfer technology, frozen embryo transfer was made on two batches of 371 Australia Merino fine-wool sheep receptors in 2007(266 sheep) and 2008 (105 sheep). And 106 lambs of Australia Merino fine-wool sheep were produced (70 in 2007 and 36 in 2008), which included 60 male lambs and 46 female lambs. The conception rate of male and female lambs were 26.32% and 37.14% respectively. And the birth weight of male and female lambs were (4.73 ± 0.41) kg and (4.54 ± 0.43) kg, (4.60 ± 0.68) kg and (4.45 ± 0.55) kg respectively. After investigation and identification,it was found that 106 lambs were obtained by using frozen embryo transfer technology and 106 pure Australia Merino fine-wool sheep were cultured. Thus research supplied the number of high-quality Australia Merino fine-wool sheep, greatly increased the number of pure Australia Merino fine-wool sheep, saved the introduction cost, shorten the generation intervals and breeding cycle of Australia Merino fine-wool sheep, which accelerated the reproductive speed of excellent breeders and extended rapidly the scientific and technological effects of seed sources.
