Abstract: Veterinary medicine is the traditional specialty in agricultural colleges in China.In recent years,more and more freshmen were not interested in this profession.Based on the survey,it was found that the proportion of freshmen who changed their major in grade 2008,2009 and 2010 of veterinary medicine speciality was relatively high in Hebei Normal University of Science ＆ Technology,being 10%,10.2% and 15.8% respectively.And it showed an increasing trend year by year,which indicated that the professional education of students in veterinary medicine specialty was urgent.The causes of instable professional idea were analyzed.Many measures were taken based on the actual situations and obvious effects were achieved.
