Abstract: With the implementation of the veterinary qualification examination system in China, the undergraduates majoring veterinary medicine are required to obtain the qualification of practicing veterinary medicine after graduation if they want to be engaged in the diagnosis and treatment of animal diseases. At the same time, with the increasing of the people′s living standard,pet ownership is rising rapidly and the market performance of pet clinic exhibited great development potential. This fact makes the universities and colleges pay more attention to the teaching of small animal medicine, but how to connect the small animal medicine specialty teaching with veterinary qualification examination is a problem that needs to be solved urgently. The teaching reform practice of small animal medicine direction in veterinary medicine specialty of Heilongjiang Bayi Agricultural University is explored and summarized, in hoping to provide references for the counterparts.
